Service Overview
We convert your old plastic debit/credit card into a custom metal (stainless steel) card. Using patented technology, we transplant your EMV chip and transfer the magnetic strip data onto the metal card, making it functional and ready to use.
We need your original card to create a fully functional metal version. We transfer all data from your plastic card to the new metal one. After removing the EMV chip, only your original card’s magnetic strip will be functional. If you opt-out of the EMV chip transfer, your card will work for swiping, but not on newer POS machines that require insertion.
- Order online and receive a prepaid label and tracking number (via email).
- Place your plastic card in an envelope, attach the label, and mail it out.
- Upon receipt of your card (2-3 business days, depending on your selected shipping speed), we begin the conversion process.
- Your design is laser engraved or UV color printed, and the EMV chip and magnetic data are transferred to your metal card within 1-2 business days.
- We email a photo and tracking link once completed.
- Your new card ships via USPS First Class Mail (FedEx for international orders) along with your old card.
- Expedited shipping options are available for selection at checkout.
We do not offer credit or reward programs. We only upgrade your existing plastic (or hybrid – plastic and metal) cards into metal ones with your preferred design.
Card Functionality
- It is not recommended to use these metal cards in ATM machines or any machines that require the full insertion of the card into the reader. The problem with some of these machines is that the metal card is too stiff for the rollers to eject the card properly. The card could get stuck in these machines. It is only recommended in machines where the card is inserted but there is a part of the card that is still exposed to be able grasp it if it does get stuck.
- Your original plastic card will still work in the ATM machines without the EMV chip. The ATM machines will be reading the magnetic strip from your plastic card. So it is preferred to use your plastic card in the ATM machines or your smartphone instead.
- You can also certainly setup your smartphone to use the contactless feature (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.) to access the ATM machines. A bank representative will certainly help you with that if you ask.
- If your metal card does get stuck in these machines, walk into the branch with your ID to claim your card back.
- Your new metal card should work everywhere your plastic card works since the only difference now is that the housing for the EMV chip is no longer sitting in your plastic card but a metal one. Remember, your credit card is the EMV chip and not the plastic housing around it.
- Yes, we transfer the magnetic strip data, but some older POS machines may struggle to read it. It might need to be swiped 2-3 times.
