The site uses SSL with 256-bit encryption during checkout and communication. Lion Card never asks for a PIN, Social Security number, banking password, or passcode. Privacy-conscious customers can send a debit/prepaid card with no funds loaded, an uninitialized card, or temporarily freeze the card during processing. Local customers can visit the San Jose lab to watch the process in person.

### How does the EMV chip transfer process work?
The customer orders online and receives a prepaid shipping label. They ship in their existing plastic card, which Lion Card typically receives within 2-3 business days.
